- If new to growing, buy a small mushroom starter kit. These are inexpensive disposable trays that you peel the top off of, water, and leave in a cupboard.
- Do some research on the commonly farmed mushrooms that could grow outdoors in your area.
- Select two and attempt to grow them outdoors in your yard and or in a local wood.
- If you enjoy the process, consider getting into small commercial growing, using sawdust or old straw and horse manure, depending on your mushroom selection.
