Day 50 Assignment

  1. If you use propane or other gas for fuel or heat at home, check your utility bill or invoices to see how much you could save.
  2. Review the potential list of feedstocks (wastes and manures) you have or could have on you homestead. Do you have enough feedstocks to produce more biogas than you need currently? Could you convert some vehicles or other engines to run on methane?
  3. When you are evaluating future on-farm projects, consider the amount of bio digester feedstock wastes that they will produce as a positive factor. If you are going to produce a lot of manure or vegetable wastes that you were going to compost anyway, they will also provide methane for you home and farm.
  4. Build a simple biogas unit.
