Day 7: Sample Farm Layouts Part I—Small Farms

Dear Student,

Today, I’d like to go over some hypotheticals to get your juices flowing, giving some typical farm sizes and explaining how to best design them…

These are basic suggestions that don’t touch on the myriad of niche or specialty farming that exist. Depending on the amount of land you have and the conditions you find yourself in, there are many passive and intensive models you could take inspiration from.

Here, I focus mostly on food production as a means of self-sufficiency and, in some examples, real profit. All of these examples are implementable virtually anywhere on Earth.
