According to WHO, Cyprus’ health care system is ranked the 24th best in the world—coming well before the United States (at 39) and even ahead of Canada (at 30th).
Medical treatment here is affordable and high quality, with most doctors trained overseas and speaking English nearly without exception.
The public health care system can be accessed by residents, and you can even get registered with the system online. Many expats, however, choose to skip the public side of care due to long wait times for treatment and use their insurance to take advantage of private care—which can be affordable even if you’re paying out of pocket.
Southern Cyprus is generally thought to have better care than Northern Cyprus, and emergency services can be slow and inconsistent, so expats here don’t typically reply on them.
