Today you should think about how much paper mail you’ll be receiving in your new home overseas. Will you want to continue to receive bank, investment, credit card, etc., account statements in the mail? How much other paper mail will be coming your way? Will you be placing online shopping orders regularly? Wanting to receive magazine subscriptions each month?
Depending on how much and what kind of paper mail and packages you’ll be receiving after you’ve made your move, determine what mail-forwarding infrastructure will make most sense. The ideal strategy can be a combination of Family and Friends and either a Miami forwarding service (if you’re relocating to a country in Central America that doesn’t have door-to-door mail delivery and where these Miami outfits have local offices) or a UPS Store account (if you’re moving somewhere that allows you a to-your-door address that you can provide for the UPS Store to forward to).
If you’ll want to have immediate access to even some of your paper mail, Earth Class Mail can be the answer… though, as you pay per scan and per action taken, the cost of this very customized service can add up.
