- If you like wine and are lucky enough that grapes grow in your area, consider growing some yourself. If that seems like too much work, ask around to see if you could buy a few crates when local vineyards harvest.
- If you like traditional grape wine, buy a starter kit online or buy grape juice and a basic airlock and experiment with a batch. You can use any container you have at home that can be cleaned and sealed.
- If you don’t like grape wine or are interested in more exciting options, brew a wine from your favorite fruit. I love blackberry wine made from my own bushes, but nearly any fruit can make a nice wine.
- After you have mastered the art, share with your friends. When you see how easy and enjoyable it is, you might consider it as a small cottage industry. (Keep in mind that it’s illegal to sell alcohol in the United States without the proper license to do so. However, this isn’t a requirement in many other places in the world. Still, even in the States, you could barter your wine for other goods or services to get around the sale restriction.)
