We’ve now introduced you to all seven of our favorite countries in Europe—which of them is calling your name the loudest?
As we’ve said, you won’t be able to make any final decisions without making at least one trip to see these places in person… but you can do a lot of the legwork now to give yourself the best chance of success on the ground.
Remember the exercise we started with on Day 1: Imagine what you want to see when you look out your window every day.
Don’t waste time or money visiting northern France, for example, if you’re only interested in living beachside with year-round warm weather…
Don’t bother with mountainous or hilly regions if you have mobility or other health issues…
Make sure you don’t live too far from airports or train hubs if further travel and exploration is a priority for your new life…
If you hate creaky floors and drafty windows, don’t waste time on fixer-uppers or quaint old construction, set your sights right on new condos or townhomes…
When in doubt, consult that ongoing checklist of turn-ons and turn-offs and remember what you’re not willing to compromise on.
