- Check online or your local stores for a reliable bread making machine. Estimate how many loaves of freshly baked organic bread you would have to bake to repay the cost of the machine. Yesterday I mentioned the peerless Instant Pot, which has a breadmaking function built right in along with all its other potential uses—it’s definitely the most economical appliance you can gift yourself, saving space and money.
- Start collecting bread recipes from family and friends.
- Make some bread by hand. It’s OK if it doesn’t work out as planned the first… or the fifth time. Practice is essential. Experiment with ingredients and recipes until you perfect several breads and rolls to allow you a variety of bread. Once proficient, step your game up and try some specialty breads.
- Do some research to see if you can start a small cottage industry baking bread. Perhaps your friends, family, and/or neighbors are interested in a weekly order of fresh, homemade, organic breads.
