1. If you have a fireplace at home, get a quote for installation of a wood-burning stove.
2. Research the plans online for a rocket mass heater or find a contractor who specializes in this kind of heater.
3. Research trees that can be pollarded that are suitable for your climate.
4. If you have a little extra space after your crop garden, plant some trees for pollarding.
5. Alternatively, make a plan to place fast-growing pollarding trees into your food forest to heat your home forever.
