Start developing your emotional self-sufficiency today…
- Sit by yourself every day.
- There are plenty of meditation and mindfulness apps you can download for free, give a few a try to see what works for you.
- Practice mindfulness during all waking hours.
- Consider how emotionally together you are and what you would like to change about how your emotions affect your life.
-
- The act of creation builds self-worth and esteem. It doesn’t need to be a work of art, it can be crafts, new dishes, or garden designs.
- Make the space you spend time in the best it can be. Organize, tidy, and improve until the feng shui in your home makes you happy.
-
- New practical skills (like self-sufficiency, cooking, gardening, etc.).
- About the world around you. Read a book, watch a documentary, take a class (online or in person), visit a museum, etc.
- If you’re musical, take up an instrument.
- Practice fixing your own problems.
- Bored? Do something!
- When you are upset, practice meditation or breathing exercises.
- Stop blaming others; their actions can’t affect you unless you allow them to. Practice stoicism when faced with frustrating external circumstances.
- Get physical exercise every day.
- Releases endorphins and makes you happier.
- Gardening chores or building projects are great exercise.
- Take a walk, lift some weights, dance to your favorite song, take a bike ride, go for a swim, or find a new activity or class to partake in (martial arts, dance, yoga, step, aerobics, etc.).
